Trying to keep up.

Welp, I’m officially over-extended!

I had to take a break from the Tour de Fleece a couple of days while I was sick, starting Thursday night.  Today is an official rest day, so tomorrow I’ll start back up.

I am enjoying spinning more, at least.  The latest project on the wheel is some “Honeysuckle” roving that I got from Cosette Cornelius-Bates at a local craft show last month.  It’s spinning up beautifully!  Right now I’m focusing on my drafting techniques to get a finer and more stable yarn.  This roving is perfect for that!

Have lots of stuff on the needles, including a linen fingertip towel, a dishtowel made up of a variety of left-over cotton yarns, a dishcloth for my mom, and some socks that I keep promising I’ll get back to, but had messed them up and am not looking forward to ripping back.

I did finally make one of the Mason-Dixon knitting mitered hanging dishtowels that I love the looks of.  I think next time I won’t double-up the yarn on the hanging part.  It really does seem too thick to me, plus it hurt my hands to do.  I’ll try one without doubling-up and then see which is better and use that technique thenceforth.

Finally, I’m all excited because I won some Bee costumes on Freecycle.  Such a simple thing has totally made my day.  I pick them up after work on Wednesday.   The donater of such awesomeness is threatening to wear the wings so I will know her when we meet, which I think is a great idea!  Will try to post pics when that happens. 🙂
